What is Microsoft Secure Score?

Around ninety percent of businesses, charities and organisations we encounter use Microsoft 365. It's an exceptionally well-known product and is consistently developed by Microsoft as the frontrunner for productivity, collaboration, security and device management.

However, one key area that's often overlooked within Microsoft 365 is Secure Score.

What exactly is this? Essentially, it's a metric used to assess your current security posture and highlight improvements across your entire 365 estate. But why is it important to push this metric as high as possible? After all, some points are locked behind paid products.

We recommend aiming for a score of at least 80 percent—a realistic goal for most organisations. Achieving this demonstrates that you've invested in robust security controls, making your organisation significantly less vulnerable to potential threats.

Whilst some points do require higher licensing, we recommend starting with Microsoft 365 Business Premium. It offers excellent value for money and provides the strongest security coverage available at that tier.

Achieving 80 percent doesn't have to be complicated. If you'd like support in reaching this target, we're here to help you get there.
